As part of our careers education programme, we offered the opportunity for our Year 10 pupils to visit Gardner Denver, a global manufacturer of compressors, pumps, blowers and other engineered solutions for various industrial applications.
The team at Gardner Denver delivered two presentations, one on work-place health and safety and the other on the different types of roles in the company: human resources, operations, overseas sales representatives, customer service and telephone sales.
Pupils toured the shop floor, where they learnt about engineering roles, saw engineering machines and air compressors and heard about Gardner Denver’s broad range of customers.
“It was very educational and informative, great experience, giving me a better insight into a company”, Lucy Scragg
“It was interesting to learn about all the different career paths just within one business”, Kate Gural
“It was a great experience and the tour guides Martyn and Luke were very enthusiastic! “
This tour was very popular with our pupils, so much so that we have arranged a second tour.
