We are thrilled to announce the exciting conclusion of our annual Sports Day, where our students displayed tremendous athleticism, sportsmanship, and camaraderie. Pegasus has emerged as the overall winner, but not without a fierce battle against their close competitor, Phoenix. Though we don’t have the exact point tally yet, the competition was incredibly tight, and all teams deserve commendation for their outstanding efforts.
The event kicked off with an impressive start on a sunny Monday morning, witnessing fantastic engagement from all our students. The field was alive with energy as students showcased their skills and determination to secure points for their respective houses.
However, as fate would have it, just before the Athletics segment was about to begin after lunch, a sudden downpour caught us off guard. The heavy rain forced us to postpone the events to the following day, Tuesday morning, much to the disappointment of the eager athletes. But this minor setback did not dampen our spirits; instead, it only fuelled the anticipation for the rescheduled day.
On Tuesday, our students returned with even greater zeal and determination. The atmosphere was electrifying as they competed fiercely, striving to give their best performances in various events.
Amidst the collective success of Pegasus, we also celebrated some exceptional individual achievements. One standout performance was by George Case, a talented Year 8 student, who surpassed his own school record in the Javelin throw. George’s dedication to perfecting his technique and the fruits of his hard work were evident as he set a new benchmark for future aspiring athletes.
We are incredibly proud of all our students for their enthusiasm, perseverance, and sportsmanship throughout the Sports Day. The event showcased not just their athletic prowess but also their ability to come together as a community, cheering each other on and celebrating every achievement, big or small.
Furthermore, we must extend our heartfelt gratitude to the teaching staff, support staff, and volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of the event. Their dedication and commitment made this Sports Day a memorable and successful experience for everyone involved.
