  • House System

Our house system at Studley High School is designed to further the student’s school experience and foster a sense of belonging, competition and fun, whilst embracing our Studley Values. All pupils at Studley High School are placed into a house – either Griffin, Pegasus or Phoenix. This ensures that all pupils are able to take part in house events, competitions and activities throughout the year that will create some brilliant memories for them once they finish their school journey.

Here are our Heads of House:

GRIFFIN

Griffin

The griffin is a hybrid creature, part eagle and part lion. With incredible strength, unfailing protective instincts, and a zero-tolerance policy against evil. The Griffin combines the best traits from the eagle “king of the birds” and the lion “king of the beasts”. Therefore, is hailed as “the king of all creatures,” and has fitting traits for such a title: noble, fearsome, and above all else, protective.

In Griffin house we never back down

from a challenge we have foresight and adapt to situations to overcome hurdles to reach our goal. We become stronger and wiser through our learning journey with the help and support from others. As griffins we say “watch us soar, hear us roar!”

Miss H Lloyd – Head of Griffin House

PEGASUS

Pegasus

Pegasus is a winged horse from Ancient Greek Mythology, born of Poseidon and Medusa, who symbolises freedom, independence and liberty.

In Pegasus house we see the possibility and potential in every student. We encourage our students to go beyond the ordinary, seek new opportunities and embrace their individuality. Pegasus house embraces the philosophy that we all deserve to live the life we were born to live, without restraints or feeling judged. We are incredibly proud of our Pegasus students and hope their house experience creates wonderful memories for them and adds positively to their time at Studley High School. There is something for everyone to enjoy, so please get stuck in!

Miss S Dimmock – Head of Pegasus House

PHOENIX

Phoenix

The phoenix is a creature from Greek and Egyptian mythology. Many other religions and cultures including Hindu and Chinese traditions have comparable stories about the fiery supernatural bird.

The phoenix famously rises from the ashes after death. Phoenix house students similarly will persevere whatever the challenge. We will learn from our mistakes and never give up. The phoenix is the symbol of hope and Phoenix house will be an optimistic and aspirational house, striving to be the best we can be, and encouraging fair play. We hope all students will get involved with all the house competitions, challenges, and charitable events. There should be something for absolutely everyone to enjoy. If there is something you would like us to host, the heads of the house team would love to hear your suggestions!

Mr B Neal – Head of Phoenix House
