The leadership team consists of Mr L Gray (Principal), Mr R Eost (Head of School),  Mrs A Page (Deputy Headteacher), Mrs R McGhie (Assistant Headteacher) and Mr M Rushton and Miss G Scott (Seconded Assistant Headteachers).

Each member of the team has general leadership responsibilities related to the efficient operation of systems and processes at Studley High School, combined with specific areas of whole school responsibilities.

Mr L Gray : Principal

Mr L Gray


Mr Gray has a BSc in Zoology from Nottingham University and an MSc in Biological Anthropology from Durham. He completed his PGCE at Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education in 1998. He started his career at Chipping Campden School becoming an Advanced Skills Teacher, before teaching overseas in Thailand and then Monaco. On return to the UK he worked at Tudor Grange Solihull before taking up his first headship at Studley in 2014. He became Principal in 2019.

Key responsibilities include: Strategic overview of the Shires Academy Trust and Shires TSA, Accountability of all schools within the Trust.

Mr R Eost : Headteacher

Mr R Eost


Mr Eost has BA (Hons) in Physical Education (QTS) form University College Chichester. He started his career at Eggar's School in Alton Hampshire. Mr Eost moved from Eggar's in 2012 to become an Assistant Headteacher at Studley High School. He then took on the role of Deputy Head in 2016 and became Headteacher in 2019.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategic oversight and development of School Development Plan, Designated Safeguard Lead, Pupil Behaviour, Recruitment, Options, Curriculum, Staff Wellbeing.

Mrs Page : Deputy Headteacher

Deputy Headteacher

Mrs Page has a BA in East Mediterranean History from The University of Birmingham and was awarded the University's Byzantine Award for her work on Greek women throughout history. She completed her PGCE at The University of Warwick. She started her career at Studley High School as a newly qualified teacher. In 2011, she was promoted to Curriculum Area Leader of Humanities. Mrs Page began her leadership role in 2014 and took on the role of Deputy Head in 2019.

Designated Safeguarding Lead, Behaviour, QA, T&L, Staff Development, CPD/INSET, Events, SMSC Provision.

Mrs R McGhie : Assistant Head

Mrs McGhie was previously the Head of Faculty for English, Languages and the Arts at Henley in Arden school, with over 11 years of secondary teaching experience and over 9 years experience of subject leadership. She is currently responsible for Teaching and Learning, allowing her to support colleagues at different stages in their careers in a range of subject areas. Her areas of specialism involve English curriculum planning, monitoring the progress of pupils and supporting colleagues to develop their classroom practice.

Key responsibilities include: Teaching & Learning, Pupil Premium, Attendance, CPD, Whole School Literacy.

Mr M Rushton : Assistant Head

Mr M Rushton has a BA (Hons) in English and Related Literature from the University of York, where he also completed his PGCE in English and Drama.  Prior to moving to Studley High School in 2016, he taught for eight years in two other schools and gained experience as both a Lead Teacher and Second in Department.  Having been Curriculum Area Leader for English for 4 years, he was promoted to the role of Assistant Headteacher in October 2020.

Key responsibilities include:
Ongoing responsibility for the English department, designated lead on the school’s data management system (Arbor), Timetabling and Options.

Miss G Scott : Assistant Head

Assistant Head

Miss Scott has a BA in Performing Arts from the Liverpool Institute For Performing Arts (LIPA)  where she studied both Music and Performance Design. She has been teaching for 13 years and previously worked at  Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA)  for eight years, where she was the Director of Visual Arts & Design and the NQT professional Mentor for the academy. Miss Scott left BOA in 2019 to take on the role of Lead Teacher of Art & Design at Studley High School and has since been promoted to the role of Assistant Headteacher in 2020.
