In Year 10, Triple Science award set 1 students learn about the structure and function of the heart. As a part of the learning process students dissect a lamb’s heart. Following this very successful lesson many students asked if they could dissect a rat.
We ordered 10 rats and Mr Sidhu explained in A Level detail, how to carry out the dissection.
Year 10 set 1 fully embraced this experience and now have real life experience of the internal organs of a mammal, in preparation for A Level Biology.
