Last Wednesday, a group of pupils from Year 8 went to University of Worcester for ‘Digifest’.
They have all opted for IT next year so was a great opportunity to gain an insight into some of the activities that they will be doing next academic year.
This event is a showcase of interactive digital activities designed to inspire, educate and encourage children to engage in digital technologies.
Throughout the day pupils took part in a range of workshops, including;
• Coding Animated Stories – Make your characters jump, spin and tell a story led by Dr. Colin B. Price FHEA NTF | Principal Lecturer Computing, University of Worcester.
• Digital Poster Design – Design and create your own digital design, get ‘top tips’ from Andy Stevenson, Senior Lecturer in Design, University of Worcester.
• Lego Robotics – Build fantastic Lego models then learn to program sensors, motors and lights to bring them to life. Highly engaging, packed full of learning and lots of fun. Session led by Nick Hawken – JuniorSTEM.
