Studley High School Students Witness Thrilling England Victory at Wembley
On Tuesday, the 17th of October, an exciting adventure awaited 40 lucky students from our school, as they embarked on a memorable trip to the iconic Wembley Stadium in London. For many of these students, it was their maiden visit to this legendary sporting venue, and what a treat they were in for!
The highlight of the trip was the much-anticipated match between England and Italy, a crucial encounter in the journey to qualify for Euro 2024. The atmosphere was electric, and the tension was palpable as the teams took to the field.
In a thrilling second half, England displayed their prowess and determination by overpowering Italy, ultimately securing a 3-1 victory. The roar of the crowd was deafening as England netted the goals they needed to cement their qualification for Euro 2024.
But the excitement didn’t end with the final whistle. After the game, the students had the privilege of staying in the stands and joining the entire stadium in singing “Sweet Caroline,” creating an unforgettable moment that will be etched in their memories for years to come.
