Studley High School Students Complete Silver DofE Training

On Sunday, 2nd February, 20 dedicated Year 10 students took part in their in-school Silver Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) training. Their commitment and enthusiasm were evident as they spent the day preparing for their upcoming expedition.

For some students, this was an opportunity to build on the skills they had developed during their Bronze DofE, while others were learning these essential skills for the first time. Throughout the day, students covered a range of important topics, including using camping stoves safely, first aid procedures, carrying out a risk assessment, route planning, and meal planning. These are all vital skills needed to ensure a successful and safe expedition.

This training day also marked the first time students worked in their expedition groups, allowing them to build teamwork and communication skills that will be crucial during their Silver DofE journey. It was fantastic to see their positive attitude and enthusiasm as they tackled each challenge.

Well done to all the students who took part – your dedication and hard work will certainly pay off when you embark on your Silver DofE expedition!
