From the 11th to the 13th of April, twenty of our Year 10 students embarked on an exciting Practice Silver Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Expedition around the beautiful Cheltenham area. This adventure was a fantastic opportunity for our students to develop their teamwork, navigation, and outdoor skills.

Day 1: Setting Up Camp

The expedition kicked off on Friday evening with students setting up their first campsite and preparing dinner using Trangia stoves. The students demonstrated excellent camping skills and teamwork from the very start.

Day 2: First Walk and Evening Fun

Saturday morning saw our students embark on their first walk. All groups navigated their routes brilliantly, showcasing their map-reading and orienteering skills. After a successful day of walking, the students enjoyed a fun-filled evening at their second campsite, playing games of football, capture the flag, and Uno. Despite the day’s exertions, energy levels remained high!

Day 3: Final Walk and Completion

On Sunday, the students set off on their final walk, making impressive time and reaching the finish point before 3pm. Throughout the expedition, all groups were excellently behaved and took great care of the campsites and local environment.

We are incredibly proud of our Year 10 students for their hard work, positive attitudes, and exemplary behaviour during the expedition. This experience has not only prepared them for their final Silver DofE Expedition but also helped them build valuable life skills.

Congratulations to all the participants! We look forward to seeing you all succeed in your final expedition.
