Last Friday 21st June, Phoenix House came alive with colour, creativity, and community spirit as students hosted a vibrant summer fete during an extended lunch break. The event was a resounding success, raising an impressive £1,550 in support of Acorns Children’s Hospice and the Student Council.
Tutor groups pulled out all the stops to create a wide variety of imaginative and engaging stalls that kept the crowd entertained throughout the afternoon. From classic games to quirky challenges, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Highlights included:
Archery
High or Low – Giant Playing Card Game
Guess What’s in the Box
⚡ Giant Steady Hand Challenge
Hook-a-Duck
Karaoke
Bake Sales
⚽ Penalty Shoot-Out
Human Fruit Machine
Dunk the Teacher
The competition was fierce, but the fundraising leaderboard saw 8Griffin2 take the top spot with £106.17, closely followed by 7Pegasus2 with £105.15, and 7Pegasus1 with £94.67. A special mention goes to 7Griffin2, who won Most Creative Stall for their dazzling combination of face glitter, temporary tattoos, and pick-and-mix sweets.
A huge congratulations to all tutor groups for their enthusiasm, teamwork, and generosity. Your efforts have made a real difference and showcased the very best of Phoenix House spirit!
