World Book Day 2026: A Day of Reading Celebration

Our school celebrated World Book Day 2026 with a full programme of reading‑themed activities across all year groups.

The day began with the launch of our new Scholastic Book Club, offering a curated range of contemporary fiction, YA novels and non-fiction. Staff also took part in a fun “Guess Who Was Behind the Book?” challenge during tutor time, with students identifying the teacher hidden behind a book cover.

At lunchtime, the gym hosted our popular Book Speed Dating event, where students shared their favourite reads and discovered new ones.

Tutor groups spent the day decorating their classroom doors as book covers. The winning entry came from 11 Pegasus 1, who transformed the Music Room entrance into The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling.

Year 7 students also enjoyed a special Footy Quiz, blending football and reading through two themed rounds created by footballing heroes and authors. Two teams tied for first place with impressive 18/20 scores.

World Book Day 2026 was a huge success, bringing our school community together to celebrate a shared love of reading.
